Video - How to add template events and event sets.

Creating a single or set of template events.

If you have problems viewing this video you can also view it at the main YouTube website by clicking this link.

<iframe width='100%' style='max-width:887px;' class='img-resize' height='709' src='https://www.youtube.com/embed/tgt3_9KzsTo?hd=1&vq=hd720' frameborder='0' allowfullscreen></iframe>

In any event you can tick the Template box and this makes the event available in the templates list when choosing the Data menu item 'Add events from a template' or mouse click menu item 'Add events from a template'.

Adding a new event and choosing the option 'Add events from a template' will show the title of all the template events. Choosing any template event will create a new event which is an exact copy, you can then change any details that you need in this new event.

Template sets

It is possible for a single template event to be part of a set of events that are all added together. You choose a single template event and all events in the set are added at the same time.

1, Create your first event, tick the 'Template' box, and give it a title you understand for the set, then click Save.

2, Click the Flow tab then the link 'Create a new Series' in the lower series box.

3, Click 'Add event to Series' for all other events in the set, changing the details of each, saving and close the additional event window that is shown each time.

4, Once you have added all your events, in step 3, you can close the initial event window and return to your schedule.

You can now choose 'Add events from a template' and you will be shown the first event in any set, choosing this event will add it and all other events to your schedule, maintaining the correct distance you specified by the dates you chose when creating the events.

Template sets linked in time

It is also possible for a single template event to be part of a set of events that are all added together, and that also move in time if the parent/first event is moved.

1, Create your first event, tick the 'Template' box, and give it a title you understand for the set, then click Save.

2, Click the Flow tab then click the link 'Create a new Series' in the lower series box.

3, Click 'Add Child Event' in the upper Parent/Child box for all other events in the set.

4, As each child event window is opened you can change the details as you need. You also set the type of relation ship to the parent in the Flow tab by clicking the 'Edit Parent Details' in the upper Parent/Child box. There you can choose 'Link Type, Move With Parent'. Save and close the additional event window that is shown each time.

5, Once you have added all your events, in step 4, you can close the initial event window and return to your schedule.

You can now choose 'Add events from a template' and you will be shown the first event in any set, choosing this event will add it and all other events to your schedule, maintaining the correct distance you specified by the dates you chose when creating the events.

Moving the parent will cause all the child events to also move.

Series of events with a strict order

In the latest version you can make the series of events follow a strict order. This prevents an event being moved to start before the event it follows or after the event it precedes. This allows you to move events within limits and maintains the strict order in which they were added. When starting a new series you are asked if this series should follow a strict order.

(create, add, chain, linked, parent, child, events)
